Formation of a Christian Network for HIV/AIDS in Kerala


Conducted a consultative workshop to establish a Christian Network for HIV/AIDS, bringing together various stakeholders to address the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

Observation of World AIDS Day


Organized an awareness programme and a public rally in Trivandrum, engaging 125 participants from diverse organizations to promote understanding and solidarity.

Drafting a Health Manual


Designed and drafted a comprehensive health manual for schools to raise awareness and serve as a reference book for students and educators.

Facilitated a series of discussions with field workers to conduct a situation analysis and formulate actionable plans for effective HIV/AIDS interventions.

Organized a special talk emphasizing the critical link between community health and food security, focusing on sustainable practices for improved well-being.

Yoga and Meditation for Mental Health


Prepared and submitted a proposal to the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Kerala to provide counselling and wellness support to residents of Old Age Homes.

Viswas Counselling Program for psycho-social support


Delivered psycho-social support to individuals affected by COVID-19 and natural disasters, addressing mental health and resilience needs.

Health Monitoring


Regularly monitored health and hygiene conditions among target groups to ensure preventive and corrective measures were implemented effectively.

Exposure and Learning Program


Organized a one-day educational tour to the Planetarium, Wax Museum, and Veli Tourist Village, combined with a learning session on personal hygiene to encourage holistic development.

Service Providing Centre for Domestic Violence


Conducted counselling sessions to support victims of domestic violence, providing a safe space and necessary interventions.

Mother Teresa Day Care Centre (MTDCC)


Operations and maintenance of Mother Teresa Day Care Centre and trained 50 differently abled children annually leading them to complete their school education in partnership with Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS), National Institute for Open Schooling (NIOS), Madras Centre for Research and Development of Community Education (MCRDCE) and HILFSWERK HILFE ZUR, Liechtenstein.


 

SDG 03 - Program 12

Empowerment and Community Actions from eco-feminism for gender equity in the community of Valiyathura


Adhwana implemented a women empowerment project from January 2003 to June 2024 in seven coastal areas of Trivandrum, benefiting housewives, fish vending women, adolescents, and fishermen in partnership with Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS), Calcatta Ondoan, Spain and local bodies in Trivandrum Municipal Corporation. The project formed Self-Help Groups (SHGs), forums, and federated higher groups, working with local bodies on activities such as skill development, livelihood promotion, awareness sessions, and environmental conservation. Key outcomes included enhanced knowledge of social issues, livelihood support, organic gardening, anti-violence sensitization, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, many women received training in employment and self-employment trades.

Valiyathura Housing Project (VaHP)


Four houses are being built for very poor families in Valiyathura coastal village where people are heavily affected by sea erosion and shoreline damages in partnership with Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS), and HILFSWERK HILFE ZUR, Liechtenstein.

Trivandrum Rural Housing Project


Process initiated to construct 12 houses for the marginalised fishermen families in Pulluvila and Thutur regions in Trivandrum and Kanyakumari Districts respectively in India

Support for Reconstructions and development of victims of Ockhi cyclone in Trivandrum, India

Adhwana, in collaboration with the Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS) and the Italian Bishops Conference, supported the reconstruction and development efforts for victims of the Ockhi cyclone in Trivandrum, India. The initiative focused on providing relief, rebuilding livelihoods, and addressing the long-term needs of affected communities through various support programs aimed at enhancing resilience and sustainable development.
